This wheel has a rugged black powder-coated finish on the rim, on the hub, and on the spokes, with accents of chrome on the spoke nipples.
This wheel comes with a set of 25mm ABS-encoder bearings installed, for use on all Harley Touring models – including Electra Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide, and Road King – from the years 2008 to 2024 that are equipped with ABS (anti-lock brakes). There is no need to “flash” the bike to these bearings, as the bike’s computer will recognize the encoders and it will not throw error codes.
The hub on this wheel is the same width as your stock wheel, so your brake rotors will align in the brake calipers. Simply note the orientation of your stock axle spacer (right) and ABS sensor (on the left) and re-install them in the same place when using this wheel.
Please note, this wheel cannot accommodate the TPMS (tire-pressure monitoring sensor) if you bike is so equipped.
This Fat Spoke wheel is intended to be used on Harley Touring models – including Electra Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide, and Road King – when converting to a fat front 180/55-18 tire.
It has a dual disc front hub that will accept all stock or aftermarket Harley-Davidson brake rotors that are hub mounted (for Enforcer style rotors that mount on fingers protruding from the hub (radial mounted rotors), a rotor adapter will be required). We highly recommend the use of our matching rotors, available in our Store.
This wheel with a 180 tire will fit between your stock fork legs, so there is no need to change the fork legs when using a tire that does not exceed 7.25” in width when mounted on an 18 x 5.5 wheel. Examples are the Dunlop American Elite, Pirelli Night Dragon, or the new Metzeler 180/55-18 dedicated fat front tire.
A wide front fender and upper fork covers (cow bells) cut to accept the fat fender are required when using this wheel and fat 180 tire combination. These are available in our store as well.
