When we designed the audio systems for Havoc Motorcycles models, we put a lot of thought into component selection. We reached out to Aquatic AV, whom we consider to be the best name in the business. We loved these head units, because they are completely waterproof, have easy installation, full hand control operation (plug & play with Harley Davidson wiring harnesses), and they offer Bluetooth for music streaming and GPS navigation will cut into the music if you operate both MP3 and GPS from the same device. And they have a 2 year warranty. There are two versions for motorcycles with hand control operation.
We also found that our customers with aftermarket fairings on Road Kings and Softails without hand controls can enjoy the Aquatic AV marine units, which have the same features, but are less expensive. SPEAKERS
As you might imagine, we tested a lot of speakers. We had a big box of blown speakers. Some self-destructed more quickly than others. The two brands that are still in our original prototype system are the ones we use exclusively: J&M Rokkers, and the Aquatic AV Ultra Series. They are both excellent quality, loud, and crystal clear. AMPLIFIERS
By now you can guess what we're going to say: yes, we fried a lot of different brand amplifiers. We finally settled on two that met our standards: the Kenwood KAC-M-3004 (4-channel, 600 watt) and the Aquatic AV (2 channel, 300 watt). They are both small enough to fit under fairings, secure nicely to our amp brackets, and offer loud clear sound. The choice really depends which system you plan to build. BUNDLES
Ok, the system below is a little extreme. But it illustrates the point: some people can't get enough sound. Most people, however, are content with a good, clear sounding system that they can hear at highway speeds over their own exhaust and the wind.
